Barefaced mud mask

I received this product for free to review via tomoson.com

OK so I literally just got this in the mail and decided to try it so I open it up and its this green goopy gelatinous substance and the fragrance I instantly place yummm! Eucalyptus and lavender!
At least this will smell pleasant! OK this doesn't feel half bad its kind of cold and tingly and messy and fun, the kids think I'm turning in to a monster, the husband says I'm applying war paint

All done, yeah I like this.
It's been years since I've tried a mask like back when I was a teen and it was funny and didn't mean anything. Oh as its drying my face feels tighter and its still tingling but mostly in spots where I had blemishes, looking good so far.
Well it's been the required 15 minutes and its time for this to come off one more before shot.
Wow this stuff sucks, literally. I had a few pre zits before putting this on that came to a head and if you've had those where they hang around for a few days just being painful and leaving you helpless to remedy you know how great that is I'm noticing the pores on my nose and cheeks are smaller now too I'm guessing because the mask absorbed all that nastiness out of them as it dried and my skin feels nice and soft and clean!
OK so its the next day and I flaked on the after pictures but its fine I'm going to use it a couple more times before I'm through anyway and as its actually midnight and therefore dark as heck I'm going to do another treatment tomorrow and show you the results. Now it says to use it once a week and I used it yesterday and again today cause well, I like it. It feels relaxing, I love the scent, I love how it makes my face feel tight as it dries and how I can feel it pulling out all the stuff that's trapped in my skin. I asked someone from the company and they suggested maybe 2 times a week as it can dry out skin but I'm really having the opposite effect so far. I swear I'm going to break out more cause I keep touching my face though. Alright see y'all in well the pm most likely since its am now lol.
So my face feels clean, my pores look smaller and every time I use the mask its like a little at home spa day. I really like it. They warned that it may be drying but I think the essential oils they use to scent it counteract that nicely so its not an issue and I just use it whenever I feel like. If you would like to check it out yourself you can pick it up here.

Ozeri weightmaster 400lbs digital scale

I received this product for free to review via tomoson.com

 Green with a loss
 Red with a gain
Height, bmi, user # (so you know it knows you are you)

OK so it seems like everything in this world is getting smarter. I mean everything. A few years ago(like 7) I got a really cool glass digital scale and I thought that was the best there was ever going to be and now I know better. Just so you know this particular scale isn't all that fancy. It doesn't link to your cell phone or come with apps but what it does do is really freaking cool. So when you get it out of the box there is a little setup involved. First you have to install the batteries, which are your basic AAA batteries (2) and they are included. Easy peasy, easier then some TV remotes even. (Why do they make those so hard anyway?) Then it simply asks you for your user number (I picked 1 cause you know I'm #1 :) and your height which you dial in using the little up and down touch screen arrows. Then you get on it and it weighs you. This part is because it tracks up to 5 people on the same scale. Now it tells you things like your BMI and that's why it needs your height and it tells you how much you've gained or lost over the past 3 and 7 times you've weighed yourself (or days if you do what it says and weigh yourself only once per day) I like it because unlike my previous scale I can just step on it and it will weigh me. I don't have to step on then off then back on and as a bonus along with the numbers it clearly lights up red if you've gained any weight since your last weigh in or green if you've lost weight and tells you the difference (yay no thinking or math) then tells you the same over the last 3 then 7 weigh ins! Unfortunately for me I have the slight problem of compulsively stepping on I every time I'm in the bathroom but its still really cool, its easy to use. A simple scale that let's you know if you are on the right track whether you are trying to gain weight or lose it. Its not bad looking either and comes in black or white (mine is white) if you would like one for yourself you can buy one here.

shandali ultrasport travel towel

I received this product for free to review via tomoson.com

My first test of the product!
OK so let me start out by saying I love this towel! Its tiny and thin and light. Its soft and absorbent and dries quickly. Now by absorbent you know how when you dry off with a towel it gets most of the water off and the air does the rest? That is not the case at all with this one skin ends up dry. Completely dry. Even hair gets drier, though not entirely dried but much drier than a regular towel. Most microfiber items I've used require them to be damp before they will really absorb well so I was impressed that this one didn't. It also didn't have a grainy feeling to it its completely smooth. I am going to get more of these because they are comfortable and convenient. Have you ever tried to pack towels for 5 people? Space quickly becomes an issue. Especially when you're taking your family out to the beach and you just have all this stuff you need. Toys, sunblock, food, drinks, an extra change of clothes and all of those bulky towels. This one is so small I could fit them all in the space one would normally take up with room to spare. And if you are going to the gym or something it would easily fit in your gym bag or purse even.

Another couple of benefits I noticed is the material while being light and thin is very dense. It actually would make for an awesome blanket if they decided to make one big enough but in any case it warms you up fast when you wrap it around your shoulders. Last thing I promise. While I otherwise regret getting the smaller size (it a comes in two) it fits my kids perfectly and an even better bonus does anyone remember those hair towels that were touted as being fashionable and how it would dry your hair perfectly and  yada yada? Well it fits on my head just as perfectly as those do in the commercials and I tuck the tail through the little loop they provided for hanging it up with.

They sold me I'm buying more! If you'd like to get your own you can do so here.

Foxbrim advanced hydrating serum

I received this product for free to review via tomoson.com

The serum comes in a nice brown glass bottle with a dropper.

The first thing I noticed is it really reminds me of hair gel. Same smell, same consistency. Well, until you put it on thankfully. Instead it feels silky and tingly in a refreshing sort of way. It soaks in pretty quickly too and instantly adds softness. The most intense thing I noticed though is how much it brightens your skin. Like instantly so I decided to demonstrate this by applying it to only half of my face.
Can you notice it on the right side of my face left side in the picture? I assume it has to do with the moisturizing aspect as my skin feels much rougher on the side that it wasn't applied. Now this serum actually contains vitamin c vitamin e and MSM as well as the hyaluronic acid so I think it saves you some steps in the morning as well.
I've been using this for a little over a week now and the last photo is with my face fully covered instead of only half. I really like it, it smoothed me out and I haven't seen a downside. If you'd like to try it yourself you can get your own bottle here.

Zimtal nut milk bag

I received this product for free to review.

OK so almond milk is one of my guilty pleasures. I love the stuff but at around 6 bucks a half gallon its more than a little expensive and so is a splurge item for me. We aren't vegan or lactose intolerant so its really not a must have item and I feel bad when ever I buy it. I am not the only one who drinks it either, my kids adore the stuff so even under threat of death my precious almond milk won't last 2 days in my house. Despite this, it never occurred to me that I could actually make the stuff. I mean, I've made a lot of crazy stuff at home including deodorant, carpet powder, air freshener, sanitizeblenders. All in the name of saving money and maybe making us a little healthier or more environmentally friendly. But how do you milk an almond? One imagines massive quantities of almonds chopped and pressed for the tiny bit of liquids they provide... Silly huh. Its actually quite easy and really cheap to make at home albeit a little time consuming. So it started with me getting some raw almonds and a blender. Yeah I know a silly review to take without one of those but whatever remember I really love almond milk I just can't afford it. Now another way people generally make nut milk is to use cheesecloth so I got some of that too for comparison.
 Cheese cloth
Zimtal nut milk bag
As you can see there are some major issues with the cheese cloth. Its flimsy, the holes are too big, it seems pretty absorbant, and how would you clean it? You wouldn't right? You buy it, use it and trash it? Seems like that would just add to the cost. Honestly the cheese cloth cost more than the almonds I used by a lot. So even it it worked properly it adds so much to the cost that its really not a viable option. Anyhow after consulting several recipes including the one that is included with these bags I decided that I would use 1\3 of a cup of almonds and soak them in water for 2 days in the fridge (I forgot the salt)
Today I got them out drained them then rinsed them and put them in my blender with 2 cups of water and blended them very thoroughly.

This is very very grainy but kind of milky looking so put the bag on my container (my French press pot)
And poured the mixture right in.
Then I slowly pulled the bag up and squeezed out all the goodness.
Upon trying it I found that this was way thicker than what I was used to from the store bought stuff, very very good but I felt I could get more out of it so I put the nuts from the bag back into the blender with another 2 cups of water and blended it again. There was really no change in the appearance and I strained it right into the previous extraction and again squeezed it all out. I stirred and tasted it and it was just like plain almond milk so good and creamy and fresh and yum! But I decided to play with it a bit more I added a couple of drops of vanilla extract (maybe 1\4 tsp) and 2 tablespoons of sugar and let my son be the guinea pig.

I neglected to photograph the finished product. It was gone that fast. Okay so its really good. This is what is left behind from the nuts
I could probably use it to make marzipan with or something later so I dumped that out onto a paper plate flipped the bag inside out and sprayed off the remaining nut powder. That's easy and I just hung it up to dry. So easy to use, easy to clean, makes a delicious product and is reusable but what about the cost of making your own almond milk ( or hazelnut or cashew or any nut milk for that matter) at home? Well the almonds cost me 8 bucks for a 16oz bag so assuming that that is 2 cups of almonds and I used 1\3 of a cup and made 4 cups of almond milk I could make 24 cups for 8$ 8 cups is what typically comes is the big cartons of almond milk and I can make 3 of those (an 18$ value) for 8 bucks and mind you I bought the expensive 1 pound bag, had I bought more it wouldn't have even cost that much. My only issue, I'll have to do this every day in much larger amounts to keep my family happy but I'm in! Next time I may try with an even lower nut to water ratio! I'm very happy with this nut bag. If you'd like one of your own you can pick one up here!

Jammy Jams Lulabylooza 90s alternative goes lullaby

I received this product for free to review via tomoson.com

OK I got this CD yesterday and listened to every song, they are definitely Lullaby versions of black hole sun, creep, a girl like you, champagne supernova, in the meantime, Friday I'm in love, easy, about a girl, possibly kingdom and bird dream of the Olympus Mons. The melodies are easily recognizable and they are great songs. That being said though the question remains, are they great lullaby's? Of that well, I'm not exactly sure. You see by knowing the songs it puts another dimension in to the equation and while traditional lullaby's aren't exactly uplifting themselves and sometimes more than a bit disturbing, I never really noticed just how depressing these particular songs made me before. On the other hand they are far more complex than your normal lullaby and if these songs aren't to your tastes Jammy Jams does offer a ton of other options for your grown up music turned lullaby pleasure and it proves you don't have to quit jamming out once you have a little one you can just pump some soft core versions of your hard core favorites right into your little ones head. There are no lyrics so you don't have to worry if the first sentence they are going to say is "where were you while we were getting high" lol. In any case at least you won't have barney stuck in your head because you lulled your kid to sleep with it. Its a very cool idea and if you would like to grab your own copy (digital or physical CD) you can do so here.
Its available in these formats:
*in stores: CD, Album Download Card
*online @ jammyjams.net: CD w/ Digital Copy, Album Download Card, Digital Download
*Amazon: CD, Digital Download
*iTunes and Google Play: Digital Download

Number One Nutrition Advanced Probiotics

I received this product for free to review via tomoson.com

I started taking these yesterday morning. Now I've tried probiotics before with really no result whatsoever though according to everything I've read I should really see a dramatic benefit from them. So yesterday morning I get up, eat a little, and take 2 of the pills. I felt seriously nauseous all day.  I took them today and honestly feel even worse slightly feverish even which I was going to pass off as unrelated until I realized what it really means. They are working. Anytime your body is purging bad things you go through kind of an awful withdrawal period. It happens with fasting, becoming vegan, and quitting smoking just from my experience so though I feel like crap I fully believe this is normal and a sign that this probiotic is actually working for me and I cannot wait to see the end results! I'll keep you posted, forgive me if I only update every few days on this one.

OK so it is day 4 and I finally don't feel like crap, yesterday is hard to mention without tmi so I'll leave it at I'm pretty sure its helping my body do what its supposed to do. The other big thing I've noticed is my eating habits have changed drastically. Seriously 3 out of my last 4 meals were salad. The 4th was broccoli and rice my normal food cravings are on the hamburger and potato lines so this is weird but good I mean I'm wanting to eat just healthy food. That has got to be a sign that this probiotic is getting rid of the bad stuff in my system that feeds on all the sugars and fats right? I'm excited!
So I talked to the company and they don't think the probiotics caused my symptoms on the other hand they don't have any idea how much if a sugar addict I am. I'm really likes yeast producing machine and I think their die off made me feel sick. But now I feel better. My stomach is flatter, I don't have the persistent pain in the side I've had for years. I feel more comfortable in general and I've even started drinking some water and less cokes which I never managed to do before despite trying very hard which I actually didn't try to do this time. So apparently probiotics are not a crack pot idea, they actually do work, well these ones do for me anyway. If you would like to try them out for yourself you can pick them up here. With all the processed crap we eat everyone probably should and at least this one works and doesn't have a huge price tag or crazy subscription program you have to sign up for. In my book that adds major points.
